Client Profile: Raising Readers Nashville
Supporting progress through communication.
Raising Readers Nashville is a collaborative community group of over 65 Nashville-area organizations who collaborate to improve the systems and structures supporting Nashville’s families and young children, with a focus on early childhood literacy. Their work began after a report called “Blueprint for Early Childhood Success” was published, and subsequently the group adopted that same name. In 2022, with primary funding from United Way of Greater Nashville, the group began to chart its next iteration with a renewed focus on community-driven efforts. They needed a name that more accurately reflected their action-oriented approach as well as clearly communicated who they served. We embarked on a comprehensive rebranding effort that began by actively listening to understand and address their identity and reputation issues. We then facilitated a collaborative naming process, oversaw the full rebranding process including a website build out, developed and implemented a communications launch strategy and provided event support that fostered unity and excitement. Subsequently, we served as the group’s communication lead over a two-year span to support a wide variety of communication and marketing needs.

Megan Godbey, Director, Raising Readers Nashville
“Jocelyn and her team played a vital role in the success of our collective impact project's rebranding. This was a significant undertaking involving numerous organizations, where clear communication and a powerful message were essential for reshaping the narrative and fostering positive involvement. Her contributions spanned from the rebranding itself and the creation of a communication strategy to continuous brand management, event production, and communication support for our Action Teams in achieving their objectives. Jocelyn truly knows how to listen to her clients. She quickly grasped the nuance of different situations, enabling her to efficiently provide proactive strategies and resources that strengthened partner engagement.”
